Bhubaneswar Traffic Decongestion Projects To Start Within A Month: Prithiviraj Harichandan

Published on

Bhubaneswar: Works Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan announced on Saturday that several major road construction projects aimed at reducing traffic congestion in Bhubaneswar will begin within the next month.

Addressing the media, Harichandan stated that four to five crucial infrastructure projects have been selected to tackle traffic jams across the city.

“Construction work on the left and right carriageways will start within a month. The land acquisition process is almost complete and is expected to finish by the end of this month. We are aiming to complete both carriageways by December,” he said.

He also announced that all traffic signals on the busy Jaydev Vihar–Nandankanan corridor will be removed to enable smoother vehicle movement.

“An advanced traffic management system will be implemented along this route,” the minister added.

Harichandan revealed that the foundation stone for the next phase of the decongestion initiative will be laid during the June festivities. The tendering process is already underway and will be completed within a month, allowing work to begin soon after.

“Our goal is to complete all proposed road projects within the next two and a half to three years and establish Bhubaneswar as a model city for effective traffic management,” he concluded.
