Anand District Collector Praveen Chaudhary said fire tenders and police teams from the Anand administration have been sent to assist on the other side of the river.

Anklav Congress MLA Amit Chavda expressed concern on social media, stating:

“Several vehicles have fallen into the river and big casualties are feared… The government administration must undertake immediate rescue and divert traffic accordingly.”

NDRF’s Vadodara 6BN unit deployed deep water divers to assist in the ongoing rescue. While two motorcycles were reportedly on the bridge, officials have not yet confirmed if they also plunged into the river.

“It is not the deepest part of the river, and rescue is being undertaken,” said NDRF official Dhameliya, adding that identities of some victims are still being verified.
