Central Government: IAS official Sujata Karthikeyan’s VRS application approved

Bhubaneswar: Sujata Karthikeyan, IAS official and VK Pandian’s wife, has taken Voluntary Retirement Scheme(VRS), according to reputable reports. According to reports, a woman IAS from Kendrapara has voluntarily retired.

It is important to note that IAS officer Sujata Karthikeyan’s VRS has been certified by the Central Government’s Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

It has been claimed that IAS Sujatha Karthikeyan filed for VRS. She applied for VRS at the Center 15 days ago. The VRS has been approved by the central government.

Sujatha Karthikeyan is a 2000-batch IAS officer. She is the wife of VK Pandian, the BJD leader. Previously, VK Pandian entered politics by joining VRS. Pandian declared his retirement from politics following the collapse of the BJD. Sujatha went on six months’ sabbatical after the BJD lost the 2024 elections.

She was granted vacation till November 26, 2024, but the Odisha BJP government denied her request to extend the leave for another six months. Following that, stories surfaced indicating that she had taken voluntary retirement, which was eventually recognized by the central government.

The decision has triggered a fresh political controversy in Odisha.
