Honeymoon Murder Case: Black Magic, Human Sacrifice Alleged in Raja Raghuvanshi Murder

The tragic murder of Indore-based Raja Raghuvanshi during his honeymoon in Meghalaya has taken a chilling turn, with his family alleging black magic, occult rituals, and a human sacrifice plot. The shocking claims point fingers at his wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, and her alleged lover, Raj Kushwaha, as the masterminds behind the crime.

According to a News18 report, Raja’s grieving parents believe that his death was more than just a case of betrayal and greed — they suspect deeper superstitious and spiritual motives, involving tantrik kriyas and vashikaran (hypnotic spells).

Visit to Kamakhya Temple and the Necklace of Doom

The couple had visited the Kamakhya Temple, a revered Shakti Peetha associated with tantric practices. Post this visit, Sonam allegedly gave Raja a necklace linked to occult rituals, intensifying his family’s suspicions.

Raja’s mother revealed he was killed on ‘Gyaras’, the 11th lunar day, which is considered spiritually significant. She fears the murder may have been an attempt at human sacrifice, disguised under astrological pretexts. The couple reportedly shared Manglik dosh, a Vedic astrological condition requiring rituals — none of which were performed.

Manipulation and Greed: The Alleged Conspiracy Unfolds

The family believes Sonam manipulated Raja under the guise of astrology and spiritual beliefs to carry out a premeditated murder. They suspect that financial control and desire for another man may have been additional motives.

Raja’s mother alleged that Sonam controlled all planning, booked no return tickets, and possibly involved as many as 15 other individuals, including her own mother. “They killed Raja out of greed. He managed all the money,” she said.

Timeline of the Crime: Honeymoon Turns Tragic

The couple, married on May 11, left for their honeymoon to Guwahati and Meghalaya on May 20. By May 23, they had disappeared after checking out from a homestay in Nongriat village, East Khasi Hills.

Raja’s body was found in a gorge near Weisawdong Falls on June 2. Sonam, initially missing, was later traced to Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, and taken into custody on June 9. While police say she surrendered, Sonam claims she was drugged and abandoned.

According to police, Sonam, with Raj Kushwaha and three contract killers, plotted Raja’s murder under the pretense of making a spiritual offering at Kamakhya Temple before consummating the marriage. The plan was delayed due to tourist rush, but ultimately executed near Weisawdong Falls, with Raja’s body dumped into a gorge.

Authorities say Sonam was present during the murder, later fleeing via Shillong and Guwahati using taxis and trains to avoid detection.

Ongoing Investigation: Digital Trails and New Revelations

The Meghalaya Police’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) continues to uncover disturbing details. SP Vivek Syiem confirmed that the contract killers arrived in Shillong on May 21, armed with a locally purchased machete. Their presence mirrored the couple’s movements.

Police are now analyzing phone records, travel data, and digital footprints to corroborate Sonam’s version of events and establish a clear timeline.
