IMD Issues Heavy Rainfall and Thunderstorm Alert Across Several Indian States; Heatwave Continues in North
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert forecasting heavy rainfall over the next three days in several parts of southern and western India. The affected regions include Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, Kerala, Mahe, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.

Thunderstorms with Lightning Likely in Multiple States
According to the IMD, isolated thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are expected today in Kerala and Mahe.
Additionally, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds are forecasted at isolated locations in the following states:
- Andaman and Nicobar Islands
- Bihar
- Andhra Pradesh
- Madhya Pradesh
- Telangana
- Uttarakhand
Heatwave Conditions Persist in Northern and Central India
While some regions brace for heavy rain, heatwave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated locations across:
- Delhi
- Chandigarh
- Haryana
- Himachal Pradesh
- Jammu and Kashmir
- Madhya Pradesh
- Punjab
- Rajasthan
- Uttar Pradesh
The IMD has also warned of warm night conditions in parts of Delhi, Chandigarh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh till tomorrow, indicating persistently high minimum temperatures.
Residents in affected regions are advised to stay updated with local forecasts, take necessary precautions against flooding, lightning, and heat exposure, and avoid unnecessary travel during extreme weather conditions.
