India Intensifies Evacuation Under Operation Sindhu

The Indian government is making all-out efforts to ensure the safe evacuation of Indian nationals from Iran amid the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel. As part of Operation Sindhu, another special flight carrying members of the Indian diplomatic mission is expected to arrive in India today.

Over 350 Evacuation Requests Received from Indians in Iran

Addressing the media in New Delhi, Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh revealed that the government has received more than 350 evacuation requests from Indian citizens currently in Iran. He reassured the public that every effort is being made to bring back all stranded nationals at the earliest.

As part of the coordinated repatriation strategy, an aircraft has also been dispatched to Turkmenistan today to evacuate more Indian citizens stranded in the region. The Minister emphasized that all evacuation flights are navigating through safe and open airspace, ensuring maximum safety for passengers.

110 Indian Students Safely Returned to Delhi

Earlier, 110 Indian students who had been evacuated from northern Iran arrived in New Delhi. Their journey was facilitated by the Indian Embassies in Tehran and Yerevan, with the students traveling overland to Armenia before being flown back to India on a special flight.

Several evacuees expressed gratitude towards the Indian government. Students appreciated the swift coordination between Indian missions and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) for ensuring their safety under trying circumstances.
