- Revised India Post Parcel and Speed Post Parcel tariffs came into effect on August 1.

NEW DELHI: The India Post Parcel service has been expanded with the launch of a dedicated last-mile delivery facility for bulk and corporate customers. At the same time, the Department of Posts has revised tariff structures for India Post Parcel and Speed Post Parcel services, with the new rates becoming effective from August 1.
The changes have been notified through the Post Office (Sixth Amendment) Regulations, 2026, issued under the Post Office Act, 2023, following approval by the Central Government.
India Post Parcel Service Introduces Last-Mile Delivery
The newly introduced service enables bulk and corporate customers with agreements with the Department of Posts to book parcels at:
- Designated delivery post offices
- Parcel hubs
- Parcel processing centres
The service is available for deliveries within the local jurisdiction and includes optional value-added features such as:
- Proof of Delivery (POD)
- Insurance
- Cash on Delivery (COD)
Parcels will be charged based on the higher of actual weight or volumetric weight, with a maximum permissible weight of 5 kg.

India Post Parcel Service Targets Faster Business Deliveries
The Department of Posts said the revised framework is intended to improve parcel delivery efficiency while offering competitive pricing for retail, bulk and contractual customers. Lower tariff slabs have also been introduced for contractual users, supporting businesses that rely on high-volume parcel movement.
The amended regulations officially came into force on August 1, marking the latest update to the Post Office Regulations, 2024.
