Kiren Rijiju Slams Opposition for Parliament Disruptions, Vows to Pass Key Bills

Published on

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Monday criticised the Congress-led opposition for causing repeated Parliament disruptions, saying the government will now move forward with the passage of important bills in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.

Addressing a press conference, Rijiju accused the Congress and other opposition parties of wasting significant parliamentary time. “Every day, we will not allow the country’s and Parliament’s time to be wasted on one issue. Therefore, we will pass important bills,” he said.

The minister emphasised that the government was willing to hold discussions on important legislation, but continuous protests by the opposition were forcing adjournments of both Houses. Rijiju alleged that opposition members were ignoring public interest issues and instead protesting daily over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Bihar.

“You have raised an issue, do it for one day. What is the point in raising the same issue every day?” Rijiju questioned.
