National Girl Child Day 2023: Ministry of Women and Child Development celebrates to 5 Days

New Delhi: The National Girl Child Day celebrations, the Ministry of Women and Child Development has decided to make the event a janbhagidari this year. States and UTs and Districts have been asked to organize activities related to girl appreciation from 18th to 24th January 2023.

The highlight of the National Girl Child Day celebrations is 5 days of district programmes and activities to spread a positive message about the value of the girl child and the rights of the child. Various activities like Special Gram Sabha, Mahila Sabha on CSR, Swearing Ceremony, Signing Ceremony, Door to Door Programme, Program with Schools (Government/Private) on Value of Girl Child, Posters, Slogan Writing, Drawing, Wall Painting organized by with inter-school competition, community sensitization programme, talk show on girls’ health and nutrition issues, plantation drive.

Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP), a flagship initiative of the Government of India, was launched in 2015 to prevent gender-based selective elimination, ensure the survival and protection of girls, and enable girls’ education. The scheme advanced in various parameters and managed to capture the conscience of the nation.

To emphasize the appreciation of the girl child, the Ministry of Women and Child Development celebrates the National Girl Child Day (NGCD) on January 24 every year. National Girl Child Day will celebrate the celebration of a local champion in education, sports, welfare and community mobilization.
