New Lok Seva Bhavan Odisha: CM Mohan Charan Majhi to Lay Foundation Stone Today

Bhubaneswar: The new Lok Seva Bhavan Odisha project is set to take a major step forward today as Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the construction of the new administrative complex. Once completed, the Lok Seva Bhavan and the new Odisha Assembly building will be housed within a single integrated campus, marking a significant transformation in the state’s governance infrastructure.

The foundation stone-laying ceremony will take place at the Lok Seva Bhavan Conference Hall and coincides with the observance of the National Road Safety Programme.

New Lok Seva Bhavan Odisha to House Secretariat and Assembly

According to official information, the Odisha government has allocated approximately Rs 3,623 crore for the ambitious project. The new Lok Seva Bhavan and the Assembly building will be developed over a sprawling 71.13 acres of land, creating a unified administrative and legislative hub for the state.

The master plan for the project has already received formal approval, clearing the way for construction to begin. Officials said the integrated complex is expected to enhance coordination between departments and streamline governance by bringing key institutions closer together.

New Lok Seva Bhavan Odisha to Modernise Governance Infrastructure

The upcoming complex is designed to meet modern administrative requirements while accommodating future expansion. By situating the Lok Seva Bhavan and the Assembly at one location, the state government aims to improve efficiency, accessibility and security for both officials and the public.

Authorities said the project reflects Odisha’s long-term vision to modernise its administrative framework and create world-class public infrastructure that supports transparent and effective governance.

Foundation Ceremony Linked to National Road Safety Programme

The foundation stone-laying event is being organised on the occasion of the National Road Safety Programme, underscoring the government’s focus on infrastructure development alongside public safety initiatives. Senior officials from the state administration are expected to attend the ceremony.
