Odisha EOW Busts Job Fraud Racket in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) cracked a huge job fraud racket in which at least two hundred job seekers of Odisha have been duped by scammers and arrested two persons in this fraud case.

EOW arrested two accused are Rajkishore Pattnaik of Gujudiha village of Balasore district and Arun Mohanty of Narasinghapur village under of Balasore and EOW PS Case No.13 dt.31.03.2023 U/s 420/467/468/471/120-B IPC.

According to EOW officials, a case was registered on the allegation of one Kumudini Sahoo of Bhubaneswar that the accused Rajkishore Pattnaik, Arun Mohanty, and Bhawani Shankar Das duped her of Rs 8.15 lakh for government job by exhibiting forged documents of appointment letters, logo and seals of Odisha Gov.

According to official, Rajkishore Pattnaik assured her of a clerk job at Raj Bhawan and demanded Rs 6 lakhs. She paid around Rs 2 lakh as advance but after getting money Rajkishore Pattnaik avoiding her. Then she came in contact with accused Arun Mohanty and Bhawani Shankar Das. Accused Arun Mohanty assured her to arrange a govt job for her and demanded Rs 7 lakhs. She gave the money but could not get any job.

The scammers have cheated Rs 1.05 lakh from one Sushant Kumar Muduli for the post of peon, Rs 4.50 lakh from one Deepak Kumar Nayak for the post of peon in the Khordha Collectorate, Rs 2 lakh from one Dipu Biswal for the job of a peon in Raj Bhawan, Bhubaneswar.

During the investigation, it was revealed that scammers have duped hundreds of job aspirants of Odisha showing them fake government letters, logos, and official seals of different departments of Govt. of Odisha
