  KEY TAKEAWAYS:
  • Odisha government clears 1363 Junior Revenue Assistant posts
  • Recruitment to be conducted through OSSSC with reservations
  • Move aims to strengthen grassroots governance and service delivery

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Junior Revenue Assistant recruitment drive has received official approval, with 1363 posts set to be filled across all 30 districts. The decision signals a major push to strengthen the state’s revenue administration and improve public services at the grassroots level.

Officials say the recruitment will address long-standing staff shortages and help streamline key administrative functions tied to land records, revenue collection, and citizen services.

Odisha Junior Revenue Assistant Recruitment Process Begins

The approval was finalised during a high-level meeting chaired by the Principal Secretary of the Finance Department. Following this, Revenue and Disaster Management Department’s Additional Chief Secretary Dr Aravind Padhee issued instructions to all district collectors.

Collectors have been directed to work closely with the Odisha Subordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) to fast-track the hiring process. The application process is expected to go online soon, making it easier for candidates across the state to apply.

This will be a direct recruitment drive, ensuring transparency and wider participation.

District Wise Vacancies and Reservation Policy in OSSSC

The government has already shared detailed district-wise vacancy data with collectors. The recruitment will strictly follow Odisha’s reservation framework.

Seats will be allocated for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Socially and Educationally Backward Classes, women, persons with disabilities, ex-servicemen, and sportspersons.

This inclusive approach aims to ensure equal opportunity while maintaining representation across communities.

Why Odisha Junior Revenue Assistant Recruitment Matters

The recruitment is more than just filling vacancies. It directly impacts how efficiently government services reach citizens.

Junior Revenue Assistants play a key role in maintaining land records, assisting in disaster management coordination, and handling revenue-related documentation. A shortage in these positions often leads to delays in service delivery.

By hiring 1363 personnel, the government aims to reduce workload pressure on existing staff and improve response times in rural and urban areas.

What Happens Next for OSSSC Applicants

Candidates can expect the official notification and application portal to go live soon through OSSSC. Once released, details on eligibility, exam pattern, and deadlines will be announced.

Applicants should keep documents ready and monitor updates closely, as the state is expected to move quickly on this recruitment.

This hiring push reflects Odisha’s broader strategy to strengthen administrative capacity and ensure smoother governance across districts.
