Mumbai: Odisha, known as the maritime gateway of eastern India, has achieved national recognition by winning the ‘Best Stall’ award at the India Maritime Week (IMW) 2025 held in Mumbai. The honour highlights the State’s exceptional showcase of maritime heritage, innovation, and its vision for sustainable growth.

Odisha Maritime Board Showcases Innovation And Heritage

The award was presented by Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal. It was received by Bidhan Chandra Ray, Additional Secretary of the Commerce & Transport Department; Padmalochan Roul, Director of Ports & Inland Water Transport; and Capt. Sushant Bag, Chief Nautical Officer of the Odisha Maritime Board.

Odisha Wins Best Stall Award For ‘Voyage Of Heritage And Hope’ Theme

Curated by the Commerce & Transport Department, Government of Odisha, in collaboration with the Odisha Maritime Board, the stall carried the theme “Odisha – Voyage of Heritage and Hope.” It creatively traced the State’s maritime journey from the ancient Boita Bandana and shipbuilding traditions of Kalinga to its modern advancements in port-led growth, inland waterways, cruise tourism, and blue economy initiatives.

Odisha Maritime Pavilion Earns Praise For Innovation And Storytelling

Visitors, dignitaries, and industry leaders widely appreciated the Odisha pavilion for its immersive storytelling and innovative presentation. The design reflected how the State connects its glorious maritime legacy with a forward-looking development approach.

Odisha Strengthens Its Position In India’s Maritime Growth

The recognition at IMW 2025 reinforces Odisha’s expanding role in India’s maritime transformation, where heritage meets innovation and sustainable development drives the future of the State’s coastal and port infrastructure.
