Kataka: The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has officially released the examination programme for the Odisha Civil Services Main (Written) Examination-2025, giving candidates a clear timeline for their final preparation.

According to the schedule, the written examination will be conducted between October 29 and November 7, 2026.

OPSC OCS Main Exam 2025: Shift Timings

The examination will generally be conducted in two sessions on the scheduled days.

  • Forenoon: 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon
  • Afternoon: 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Candidates with benchmark disabilities will receive an additional hour. Their examination timings will be:

  • Forenoon: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
  • Afternoon: 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Language Papers to Begin the Examination

The first day will focus on the two compulsory language papers.

October 29:

  • Paper-I: Odia Language
  • Paper-II: English Language

The Essay paper will follow on October 30 in the forenoon session.

General Studies Papers in November

The General Studies component will be conducted over two examination days.

On November 2, candidates will appear for General Studies Paper-I and Paper-II.

General Studies Paper-III and Paper-IV will then be conducted on November 4.

The final examination day, November 7, will be dedicated to the optional subjects.

Wide Range of Optional Subjects

OPSC has included a broad range of optional subjects for candidates appearing in the Main examination.

The choices include subjects such as Agriculture, Anthropology, Botany, Chemistry, Commerce, Economics, Education, Geography, History, Law, Management, Mathematics, Medical Science, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology, Statistics and Zoology.

Engineering and other specialised subjects are also included.

Candidates can also choose literature subjects in English, Hindi, Odia or Urdu, as applicable under the examination rules.

OPSC Aspirants Get Time for Final Preparation

The release of the examination programme gives candidates a defined preparation window to complete their revision strategy.

Aspirants should now focus on consolidating General Studies preparation, revising optional-subject material and practising language and essay papers under examination conditions.

Candidates should also keep their admit cards, identity documents and required stationery ready before the examination.

OPSC has advised all concerned candidates to take note of the schedule and follow any additional instructions issued by the Commission.

The examination will be conducted as per the programme issued from Loka Seva Ayog Bhavan, Cuttack.
