Pigeon With Threat Note Sparks Security Alert at Jammu Railway Station

Published on

Security forces in Jammu were placed on high alert after a pigeon carrying a threat note was intercepted near the India-Pakistan international border. The incident occurred in the Khatmarian area of RS Pura, where the Border Security Force (BSF) discovered the bird with a slip of paper tied to its leg. The note contained a chilling message that read: “Jammu Station IED Blast.”

Security Alert at Jammu Railway Station After Threat Message

Following the discovery, the BSF immediately informed the Jammu and Kashmir Police, prompting authorities to step up security measures at Jammu Tawi Railway Station. The alert was issued to ensure passenger safety as intelligence agencies began investigating the origin of the threat and whether the pigeon had flown in from across the border.

Previous Incident of Suspicious Pigeon Interception

The episode comes just days after a similar case on August 18, when another suspicious pigeon was caught in the border area near Forward Defence Post-69, close to Kathmaria Border Out Post under the 07 Battalion of the BSF. That bird was also spotted under unusual circumstances by a patrol team.

Investigators found a slip tied to the pigeon’s claw carrying messages in both Urdu and English. Among the writings were the phrases: “Kashmir Hamara Hai” (Kashmir is ours), “Waqt Aa Gaya Hai, Aa Jayega” (The time has come, it will come), and “Jammu Station IED Blast.”

Authorities are probing whether these pigeons originated from across the Indo-Pak border and were deliberately used to send threat messages. While BSF and police continue their investigation, security across sensitive installations in Jammu has been tightened to prevent any untoward incident.

The mysterious use of pigeons for carrying such notes has raised concerns, with security agencies treating these developments as potential cross-border psychological tactics aimed at creating panic.
