New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today extended warm wishes to teachers across the country on the occasion of Teachers’ Day 2025, celebrated every year on September 5 to honour the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, former President of India and one of the nation’s most respected educationists.
In a message on X, Modi highlighted the invaluable role teachers play in shaping the country’s future and praised their dedication and compassion in nurturing young minds.
PM Modi Highlights Role of Teachers on Teachers’ Day
The Prime Minister wrote, “Wishing everyone, particularly all hard-working teachers, a very happy #TeachersDay! The dedication of teachers to nurturing minds is the foundation of a stronger and brighter future. Their commitment and compassion are noteworthy.”
He added that teachers are the guiding force behind the holistic growth of students, laying the foundation for a progressive and empowered India.
Tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan
On the occasion, Modi also paid tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, describing him as a distinguished scholar, philosopher, and teacher whose legacy continues to inspire generations. “We also remember the life and thoughts of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, a distinguished scholar and teacher, on his birth anniversary,” he said.
Teachers’ Day, celebrated since 1962, not only honours Dr. Radhakrishnan’s contribution to Indian education but also serves as a reminder of the respect society owes to its educators.
