PM Modi Unveils ₹24,000 Crore Projects, Including Locomotive Plant in Gujarat’s Dahod

Published on

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated and laid the foundation for multiple development projects worth around ₹24,000 crore in Dahod, Gujarat. Among the highlights was the dedication of a state-of-the-art locomotive manufacturing plant that will produce 9000 HP electric locomotives for both domestic use and export. He also flagged off the Vande Bharat Express between Veraval and Ahmedabad, and a new express train linking Valsad and Dahod.

The initiatives include key railway projects and other infrastructure efforts by the Gujarat government. Earlier, PM Modi held a roadshow from Vadodara airport to an Air Force station, where crowds gathered to cheer him and celebrate the success of Operation Sindoor. Family members of Indian Army officer Colonel Sofiya Qureshi were also present to greet him. The Prime Minister is on a two-day visit to the state.

Later, he is scheduled to visit Bhuj to inaugurate additional projects worth over ₹53,400 crore. These activities are part of celebrations marking 20 years since the launch of the Gujarat Urban Growth Story. The Prime Minister will also unveil Urban Development Year 2025 and launch Gujarat’s State Clean Air Programme in Gandhinagar.

This follows BJP’s third consecutive term at the Centre, beginning in 2014, and its continued dominance in the 2019 and 2024 general elections.
