PM Modi’s Mann Ki Baat Highlights India’s Festive Spirit, Unity, and Progress under Gyan Bharatam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the 127th episode of his monthly radio address ‘Mann Ki Baat’, celebrated the unbreakable spirit of India’s people during the festive season, describing how “lamps of joy” now shine even in regions once gripped by Maoist violence. He praised the people’s determination to replace fear with peace, progress, and hope.

Modi highlighted the growing enthusiasm for the GST Bachat Utsav, which promotes the purchase of indigenous products. He said that citizens across India are choosing Made in India goods, reflecting a renewed commitment to self-reliance. The Prime Minister also reiterated his earlier appeal to reduce edible oil consumption by 10 percent, noting the encouraging response from households nationwide.

Tribute to India’s Cultural Heritage: Diwali and Chhath Puja

Extending festive greetings, Modi lauded the celebrations of Diwali and Chhath Puja, calling them beautiful symbols of devotion and social harmony. He described the vibrant scenes across Bihar, Jharkhand, and Purvanchal where Thekua is prepared, ghats are decorated, and markets are filled with joy. He praised the dedication of women observing Chhath Vrat, emphasizing their role in preserving cultural unity.

Grassroots Innovations and Environmental Efforts

The Prime Minister spotlighted inspiring local initiatives such as Ambikapur’s Garbage Cafes, which offer meals in exchange for plastic waste, and Bengaluru’s lake rejuvenation campaign, driven by community and corporate collaboration. He also appreciated Gujarat’s mangrove plantation drive, which has revitalized marine ecosystems and empowered local fish farmers.

Honouring Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th Birth Anniversary

Modi paid rich tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, lauding his pivotal role in uniting India and building its administrative framework. Calling Patel “one of modern India’s greatest luminaries,” Modi recalled his contributions during the Kheda and Borsad Satyagrahas and his leadership in cleanliness and governance as Ahmedabad Municipality head. He urged citizens to join the Run for Unity on October 31, turning it into a collective national movement symbolizing Patel’s vision of unity.

Celebrating Vande Mataram and India’s Cultural Icons

The Prime Minister also marked the 150th anniversary of India’s national song, Vande Mataram, inviting citizens to share tributes under the hashtag #VandeMataram150. He applauded young content creators promoting Sanskrit, blending tradition with innovation, and honoured tribal freedom fighters Komaram Bheem and Bhagwan Birsa Munda for their enduring legacies of resistance and courage.

A Message of Hope and Unity

Modi concluded his address by celebrating India’s vibrant spirit of innovation and community service, expressing gratitude for the numerous messages from listeners nationwide. “We will meet again next month with fresh topics,” he said, signing off with a heartfelt “Namaste”, reaffirming the importance of culture, unity, and youthful energy in building a stronger India.
