Rashmika Sahgal Wins Junior Air Pistol Gold at Asian Shooting Championship, India’s Medal Tally Rises

India continued its strong run at the 16th Asian Shooting Championship in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, with Rashmika Sahgal claiming the country’s third individual gold medal on day two of the competition. Rashmika delivered an impressive final score of 241.9 in the junior women’s 10m air pistol event, finishing 4.3 points ahead of Korea’s Han Seunghyun to secure the title.

Earlier in the day, Olympic bronze medallist Manu Bhaker added another international podium finish by taking bronze in the senior women’s 10m air pistol final with a score of 219.7.

The Rashmika Sahgal junior air pistol gold came after a stellar qualification round, where she posted a strong score of 582. In the final, she maintained complete control throughout, producing a series of high-scoring shots and establishing a solid lead over her rivals. Her consistency and composure made the difference as she clinched the title comfortably.

Team Gold Adds to Rashmika’s Medal Haul

It was a double celebration for Rashmika, who also helped India secure team gold in the junior women’s air pistol event. Teaming up with Vanshika Chaudhary (573) and Mohini Singh (565), the trio produced a combined performance that topped the standings. In the senior category, Manu Bhaker (583) joined Palak (573) and Suruchi Phogat (574) to secure team bronze in the women’s air pistol event.
