Most Active Stocks by Volume

Reliance Power topped the volume charts on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), with 49.62 crore shares traded. It was followed by Vodafone Idea (30.94 crore shares) and RattanIndia Power (30.5 crore shares), reflecting strong retail and institutional interest in these counters.

Strong Gainers: 16 Stocks Rally Over 10%

Sixteen stocks registered sharp gains of more than 10% during the session. Notable performers included Oriental Carbon & Chemicals, Atam Valves, RattanIndia Enterprises, GE Power India, and Cinevista, signaling robust investor sentiment in specific mid-cap and small-cap counters.

Sharp Declines: Two Stocks Drop 10%

On the downside, Krebs Biochemicals and Industries and GACM Technologies DVR each closed the day 10% lower, standing out as the session’s top laggards.

Circuit Limits: Over 100 Stocks Locked in Upper Circuits

Market momentum triggered circuit limits across a wide range of stocks. As many as 116 stocks hit their upper circuit, including names like Unitech, Coffee Day Enterprises, Reliance Infrastructure, RattanIndia Enterprises, and RattanIndia Power.

In contrast, 49 stocks hit their lower circuit. Key among these were Rachana Infrastructure, Nirman Agri Genetics, and Kore Digital.

Market Breadth: Advances Outweigh Declines

The broader market showed a positive undertone with 1,609 stocks advancing on the NSE, compared to 1,302 declines. Meanwhile, 80 stocks ended flat, indicating a largely bullish sentiment across sectors.

52-Week Highs: Over 100 Stocks at Record Peaks

A total of 137 stocks touched their 52-week highs on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) in intraday trade. Prominent among them were InterGlobe Aviation (IndiGo), Bharat Electronics (BEL), Bank of India, SBI Cards and Payment Services, Muthoot Finance, Dalmia Bharat, and SRF.

The strong market activity suggests continued interest in mid-cap and infrastructure-related stocks, along with a revival in retail participation.
