What the market is missing is that direct financial assistance schemes like Subhadra Yojana can significantly improve household spending power when the funds are placed directly in women’s bank accounts.

How the Subhadra Yojana Financial Assistance Works

Under the Subhadra scheme, eligible women beneficiaries receive ₹5,000 twice a year as financial assistance.

The scheme aims to:

  • Strengthen women’s financial independence
  • Support household income stability
  • Encourage savings and entrepreneurship

With more than one crore beneficiaries, the programme has become a major pillar of the Odisha government’s welfare initiatives for women.
