New Delhi: The 4th edition of World Food India 2025 will be hosted by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from September 25 to 28, 2025. The theme for this year’s mega food summit is “Processing for Prosperity.”

Event to Unite Global Stakeholders

Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Chirag Paswan, at the Curtain Raiser event in New Delhi, stated that the summit will serve as a platform for industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers to share ideas, technologies, and best practices aimed at boosting the Indian food processing sector.

Focus on Farmer Income and Job Creation

Paswan emphasized that the food processing industry has immense potential to uplift farmer incomes, create employment, and increase national revenue. He stressed the need to tap into the untapped potential of the sector and reaffirmed the government’s vision to establish India as a global food processing hub.

Government Schemes to Strengthen the Sector

The Minister also highlighted government initiatives such as the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana, which is aimed at strengthening infrastructure and capacity in the food processing domain.

Sector’s Contribution to Economic Growth

Avinash Joshi, Secretary of the Ministry, pointed out the significant contribution of the food processing sector to Gross Value Addition (GVA) and its leadership in the production of milk, millets, and pulses — positioning India as a key global player in agri-based industries.
