BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha schools reopening schedule will remain unchanged, with educational institutions set to resume classes on June 18 after the summer vacation. The announcement was made by Nityananda Gond, putting an end to speculation about a possible extension due to the ongoing heatwave across the state.
The government clarified that schools will reopen as previously notified, although authorities will continue monitoring weather conditions.
No Extension of Summer Vacation
Speaking on the issue, the minister stated that there is currently no proposal to extend the vacation period beyond June 18.
The summer break had begun on May 12 after the state witnessed prolonged periods of extreme heat. With the southwest monsoon advancing into Odisha, officials expect weather conditions to gradually improve in many regions.
