NEW DELHI: Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi meets Union home minister Amit Shah meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the Centre and Odisha on development, internal security and infrastructure. During his official visit to New Delhi, the Odisha Chief Minister briefed the Union Home Minister on the state’s progress in governance, welfare programmes and industrial expansion while seeking continued support from the Central Government.

The meeting comes as the state government pursues accelerated development under its current administration while working closely with the Centre on key policy initiatives.

Mohan Charan Majhi Meets Amit Shah to Discuss Development Priorities

During the meeting, Majhi said Odisha is progressing on a path of development and prosperity under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and with the guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The Chief Minister updated Shah on several important issues, including:

  • Ongoing development projects.
  • Law and order across the state.
  • Internal security.
  • Implementation of Central and state welfare schemes.

Majhi also sought the Union Home Minister’s continued cooperation to strengthen Odisha’s development agenda and improve governance outcomes.

Odisha Highlights Naxal-Free Status and Industrial Growth

The Chief Minister thanked Amit Shah for the Centre’s support in strengthening internal security and said Odisha’s recognition as a Naxal-free state has created favourable conditions for socio-economic development.

He said the state government is implementing welfare programmes in formerly Naxal-affected regions through the Gramodaya Yojana to accelerate development and improve public services.

Majhi also informed the Home Minister that active policing has helped maintain law and order across Odisha.

On industrial development, he highlighted the state’s rapid industrialisation over the past two years and sought additional Central assistance to strengthen industrial security and facilitate further investment.

The Chief Minister also thanked the Central Government for its support in reviving sugar mills in Odisha and said the state’s “double-engine government” has earned public confidence through faster grievance redressal and direct engagement with citizens.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, Amit Shah appreciated Odisha’s governance and welfare initiatives during the meeting. The Union Home Minister assured that the Central Government would continue extending all possible support to help fulfil the development aspirations of the people of Odisha and strengthen cooperation between the Centre and the state.
