BHUBANESWAR: MKCG PG exam malpractice allegations have prompted the Maharaja Krishna Chandra Gajapati (MKCG) Medical College, Berhampur, to constitute a five-member enquiry committee. The decision follows widespread media reports highlighting alleged irregularities during the recent postgraduate MD/MS examination.

The inquiry aims to establish the facts surrounding the incident and recommend appropriate action based on its findings.

MKCG PG Exam Malpractice Probe Begins

According to an official order issued by the Dean and Principal on July 30, the committee has been tasked with examining the allegations, which the institution said have affected its reputation.

The enquiry committee will be chaired by the Dean and Principal and comprises:

  • Prof. Sudepa Das, Superintendent
  • Dr. Sweta Kumar Dash, Registrar and Convener
  • Prof. Siba Prasad Pattanayak, Head of the Department of Surgery
  • Prof. Chandra Sekhar Tripathy, Head of the Department of Psychiatry
  • Prof. Debabrata Nath Sharma, Department of Anesthesiology

The panel has been directed to conduct a detailed inquiry into the alleged malpractice and determine whether any procedural lapses occurred during the examination.

Report to Be Submitted Within Three Working Days

The committee has been instructed to submit its findings within three working days, enabling the institution and authorities to take further action if necessary.

MKCG PG Exam Malpractice Report to Be Shared With Authorities

Copies of the enquiry order have been forwarded to the Director of Medical Education and Training (DMET), Odisha, the Health and Family Welfare Department, and the Controller of Examinations, Odisha University of Health Sciences (OUHS), Bhubaneswar, for information and further action, if required.

The outcome of the inquiry is expected to determine the next course of action regarding the alleged examination irregularities and reinforce confidence in the integrity of postgraduate medical examinations at the institution.
