BHUBANESWAR: The President Droupadi Murmu Odisha visit has prompted extensive security preparations across the state, with authorities putting in place enhanced measures ahead of her scheduled engagements in Cuttack and Ganjam district. A key highlight of the visit will be the President’s train journey from Bhubaneswar Railway Station to Berhampur on the morning of August 4, for which railway stations and the entire route have been placed under heightened security.

Officials said coordinated efforts are underway to ensure the President’s travel and public programmes are conducted safely and without disruption.

President Droupadi Murmu Odisha Visit Includes Train Journey

As part of her itinerary, President Murmu will travel by train to Berhampur before attending official programmes in Cuttack and Berhampur.

She is also scheduled to visit the Maa Kandhuni Devi Temple at Taptapani Hot Spring in Sanakhemundi block, where she will offer prayers before attending other engagements.

The train journey has led to additional security measures at Bhubaneswar Railway Station, along the railway corridor and at destinations included in the President’s schedule.

Director General of Police Y.B. Khurania said Odisha Police have completed extensive preparations for the President’s visit.

The security plan includes:

  • Technical inspections along the VVIP movement route.
  • Enhanced surveillance at sensitive locations.
  • Intensified railway track patrolling.
  • Additional personnel at every railway level crossing during the President’s journey.

Authorities are also identifying railway staff assigned to platform duties, with special duty passes being issued to authorised personnel to maintain strict access control and coordinated operations.
