Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday extended Nuakhai greetings to the people of the state on the eve of Odisha’s major agrarian festival, which will be celebrated on Tuesday.

In a video message, the Chief Minister described Nuakhai as much more than a festival, calling it an important part of Odisha’s soil, culture, way of life and social unity.

CM Majhi Calls Nuakhai the Heartbeat of Odisha

Extending his wishes to the people, Majhi said Nuakhai represents the cultural and social identity of Odisha.

“Nuakhai is not merely a festival; it is the heartbeat of our soil, culture, way of life, and social unity,” the Chief Minister said.

He extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to people across the state ahead of the festival.

Nuakhai Juhar Strengthens Family Bonds

The Chief Minister highlighted the tradition of Nuakhai Juhar, under which younger members respectfully greet elders and receive their love and blessings.

Majhi said the tradition encourages people to leave behind differences, bitterness and ego during the festival.

According to the Chief Minister, this tradition further strengthens bonds within families, society and the wider community.

CM Urges People to Work for Odisha’s Development

In his Nuakhai greetings, Majhi also called upon people from different sections of society to contribute towards the development of the state and the country.
