Allahabad Bomb Case: 35 students held hitherto, including 27 minors

Published on

PRAYAGRAJ: Police stated on Friday that they had detained 35 students, including minors, after dismantling a network of student organisations that were reportedly responsible for bomb blasts outside famous schools and retail establishments in the city to generate buzz. Additionally, the police are thinking about using the National Security Act (NSA) against the adult pupils.

While 27 juveniles were sent to juvenile homes in connection with more than half a dozen bomb throwing and blasting incidents in the preceding two weeks that were reported in the city, eight adult students were jailed.

Additionally, the police have scanned and questioned the social media profiles of all 10 student organisations that were founded on Instagram, including Tandav, Jaguar, Tiger, Immortal, Rangbaz, and Ramdal.

SSPย (Prayagraj) Shaileshย Kumar Pandeyย told TOI, “We are also planning to invoke National Security Act (NSA) against the adult students who had allegedly hurled crude bombs on shops as some of the cases were even registered under section 307 ofย IPC.”
