The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted favourable conditions for the further advancement of the Southwest Monsoon over the remaining parts of the country within the next 2 to 3 days. The weather department has also forecast intense rainfall activity across multiple regions in India for the upcoming week.
Heavy to Very Heavy Rain Likely Across Several States
According to the IMD, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected over Northwest, Central, East, and Northeast India over the next 7 days. These weather patterns are being driven by monsoon dynamics that are intensifying across the subcontinent.
Rainfall Alert for Multiple Regions
Today, significant rainfall activity is expected in:
- Gujarat
- Kerala
- Mahe
- Madhya Maharashtra
- Uttarakhand
Over the next 2 to 3 days, heavy showers are also likely in:
- Punjab
- Haryana
- Himachal Pradesh
- East and West Rajasthan
- Jammu and Kashmir
Rain to Continue in Central and Eastern India Till July 3
Widespread rainfall will persist in the following states till the 3rd of July:
- Madhya Pradesh
- Chhattisgarh
- Odisha
- Jharkhand
- Bihar
- West Bengal
- Sikkim
The IMD has advised local administrations and the public to stay updated with regional weather alerts and take necessary precautions in flood-prone or low-lying areas.
