According to the information, heavy rain is likely to occur in the state for next 2 days from today under the influence of this low pressure. Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal and Kalahandi districts may experience heavy to very heavy rains. An orange warning has been issued as there will be rainfall of 7 to 20 cm in these districts. Heavy and extremely heavy rains are likely to cause inundation in low-lying areas, inundation of cities and under-pass roads, and landslides in hilly areas. As the sea is very rough at this time, fishermen are prohibited from going into the sea till August 15.

Similarly, the water level of the Hirakud dam has increased. The flood water is being drained from the dam through 20 gates. As of this morning, 4 lakh 35 thousand 303 cusecs of water is flowing into the dam, while 3 lakh 49 thousand 498 cusecs of water is being discharged through sluice gates and various power channels.

Along with this, a warning has been issued for the river bed and the river bed. Sambalpur District Collector Ananya Das has advised the public to be cautious. The District Magistrate has advised the general public to be careful and not to enter the river as the water flow in the downstream area of the ​​Hirakud Dam is very strong.
