Odisha Speaker Launches New Assembly Website to Enhance Public Access

BHUBANESWAR: Speaker Surama Padhy on Friday unveiled the Odisha Assembly new website, describing it as a significant step toward improving transparency and efficiency in legislative processes. Developed jointly by the Electronics and Information Technology Department and the National Informatics Centre (NIC), the portal aims to make Assembly proceedings more accessible to citizens.

Padhy stated that the platform will provide accurate, detailed information about Assembly activities, decisions, and initiatives, enabling the public to stay informed and engaged. “The launch of this website reflects our commitment to using technology for good governance and enhancing citizen participation,” she said.

Odisha Assembly New Website to Strengthen Transparency

According to the Speaker, the portal will not only improve the functioning of the Legislative Assembly but also encourage greater public involvement in governance. The website is expected to serve as a bridge between legislators and citizens, promoting accountability.

She also announced that a two-day conference of chairpersons of the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes committees from across India will be held in Bhubaneswar on August 29–30. The event will be attended by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairperson Harivansh Narayan Singh, and other senior parliamentarians.

Technology Boost Through Odisha Assembly New Website

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukesh Mahaling, Electronics and IT Principal Secretary Vishal Dev, Assembly Secretary Satyabrata Rout, and other senior officials were present at the launch ceremony.
