Ahmedabad Plane Crash: 62 DNA Matches Confirmed, 35 Bodies Handed Over

In the aftermath of the tragic Ahmedabad plane crash in Gujarat, authorities have collected 250 blood samples from the relatives of victims and local residents for DNA identification. So far, 62 samples have been successfully matched, and 35 bodies have been handed over to the families of the deceased.

Relatives of Three Victims in the UK Yet to Provide DNA Samples

Only three relatives, currently residing in the United Kingdom, have yet to provide their samples. Officials expect to receive these within the next two to three days, allowing further progress in the identification process.

PM’s Principal Secretary Visits Crash Site for Assessment

P.K. Mishra, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, visited the crash site today to assess the situation. He also visited the hostel mess area, interacting with officials and ground personnel involved in relief and investigation operations.

State Mourning Declared for Former CM Vijay Rupani

The Gujarat government has declared a day of state mourning tomorrow following the death of former Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. The national flag will fly at half-mast on all government buildings, and his last rites will be conducted with full state honours tomorrow evening.

Helpdesks Set Up for Insurance and Claim Assistance

To support the families of crash victims, helpdesks have been established for processing insurance and claim assistance. Nodal officers have been appointed by the district administration to ensure swift and smooth disbursal of payments to the legal heirs.
