Asterix and Obelix: The  ‘Asterix’ film series will be released in India on May 12. The French film ‘Asterix and Obelix – The Middle Kingdom’ is a live action adventure family comedy directed by Guillaume Canet, who also plays the title character Asterix.

‘Asterix and Obelix’ is a worldwide popular comic series that has been translated into other languages. The series’ success has resulted in the conversion of its books into films.

‘Asterix and Obelix – The Middle Kingdom,’ hailed as one of the biggest home productions, was shot in France and China. The story revolves around the sole daughter of Chinese Emperor Han Xuandi, who flees from a stern prince and travels to Gaul in search of assistance from the two brave soldiers Asterix and Obelix.

The film stars Guillaume Canet, Gilles Lellouche, Vincent Cassel, Jonathan Cohen, Marion Cotillard, Julien Chen, and Leanna Chea in significant parts.

Luv Films and Star Entertainment will release the film in India on May 12 in English, Hindi, and Tamil.
