Australia Reaffirms Support for India Against Cross-Border Terrorism

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Richard Marles held a high-level meeting in New Delhi to explore ways to deepen the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Their discussions focused on key areas of mutual interest and regional stability.

Australia Backs India in Fight Against Cross-Border Terrorism

During the meeting, Deputy PM Marles reiterated Australia’s firm support for India in its fight against cross-border terrorism. Both leaders acknowledged the importance of standing together against global security threats and promoting peace and stability in the region.

Boosting Collaboration in Defence and Emerging Technologies

The two sides emphasized the need to enhance collaboration in critical areas such as defence industrial partnerships, resilient supply chains, critical minerals, and cutting-edge technologies. These efforts are aimed at building mutual resilience and expanding economic and strategic ties.

Shared Vision for Indo-Pacific Security

Both leaders reaffirmed that their shared commitment to a stable, secure, and prosperous Indo-Pacific remains the cornerstone of their growing bilateral cooperation. They agreed to continue working closely in multilateral forums to uphold rules-based order in the region.

PM Modi Congratulates Australian Labor Party

Prime Minister Modi congratulated Deputy PM Marles on the Australian Labor Party’s historic victory in the recent federal elections. He also extended an invitation to Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to attend the Annual India-Australia Summit scheduled to take place in India later this year.
