Bhubaneswar traffic restrictions President visit will come into force as the city prepares for a six-day tour by Droupadi Murmu starting February 2, 2026. The President will initially stay in Bhubaneswar, prompting the police to impose temporary curbs on selected routes to ensure security and smooth movement.
The advisory has been issued by the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate under Section 28 of the Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003, and Regulation 36 of the Traffic and Public Order Regulations, 2008.
What the Traffic Advisory Says
Vehicles will be restricted from plying on designated roads or entering them through connecting lanes during specific dates and time windows linked to the President’s movement.
Police said the objective is to maintain VIP/VVIP security while minimising congestion across the city.
Emergency Services Exempt
The restrictions will not apply to emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire tenders.
Police Urge Public Cooperation
Commissioner of Police Dr. Suresh Dev Datta Singh, IPS urged residents and visitors to cooperate, follow traffic personnel instructions, and stay updated through official channels and local media for route-specific updates.
Advisory for Commuters
Authorities have asked commuters to:
- Avoid notified routes during restriction hours
- Use alternate roads wherever possible
- Start early and allow extra travel time
- Follow on-ground traffic guidance
