Deogargh: A man climbed a 58-ft mobile network tower in Jhumapura village under Barakote police limits in Deogarh district and threatened to end his life following a domestic dispute. Fire personnel eventually rescued him after an operation that lasted around six hours.
The man, identified as Lubu Nayak of Jhumapura village, reportedly climbed the tower at around 4:30 pm after his wife left for her parents’ home following a dispute.
Police and fire personnel reached the location after being informed about the incident.
Deogarh Tower Rescue Operation Lasted Six Hours
According to reports, Nayak remained on top of the mobile network tower and threatened to end his life unless he was reunited with his wife.
Barakote police arrived at the spot and attempted to persuade him to come down. However, their efforts over several hours did not convince him to descend.
Fire personnel subsequently climbed the tower to reach Nayak. After a prolonged effort, they managed to bring him down safely.
Man Taken to Hospital After Rescue
Following the rescue, police took Nayak to a hospital for medical assistance.
The incident drew attention in the village as police and fire personnel worked for several hours to safely bring him down from the tower.
The reported incident followed a domestic dispute, with Nayak becoming distressed after his wife left the home and went to her parents’ residence.
