Disney has officially rechristened the sixth installment of its blockbuster animated franchise as Ice Age: Boiling Point, announcing the title at the Destination D23 showcase in Orlando. The film is slated for a theatrical release on February 5, 2027, promising a fiery new adventure for the prehistoric herd.

According to Disney’s official logline, Ice Age: Boiling Point is described as “a dinosaur-and-lava-filled madcap adventure” that will take Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie, Scrat, and the rest of the herd into unexplored corners of the Lost World. The announcement has generated major buzz among longtime fans, eager to see the franchise’s beloved characters return.

Ice Age Boiling Point brings back the original voice cast

The sixth film reunites the franchise’s iconic cast. Ray Romano once again lends his voice to Manny the woolly mammoth, Queen Latifah reprises her role as Ellie, John Leguizamo returns as Sid the sloth, Denis Leary is back as Diego the smilodon, and Simon Pegg continues as the daring weasel Buck.

At the same D23 event, Disney announced Hexed, an original animated feature set for release in November 2026. The film follows an awkward teenage boy and his Type-A mother, who discover that his quirks are tied to magical powers that will turn their lives—and a secret world of magic—upside down.
