First Batch of 901 Pilgrims Reaches Shri Buddha Amarnath Ji Temple in Poonch

Poonch: The sacred Buddha Amarnath Yatra 2025 officially began today as the first batch of 901 pilgrims successfully reached the revered Shri Buddha Amarnath Ji Temple in Mandi, Poonch, under tight security arrangements. The pilgrims were given a warm and traditional welcome by locals, Beopar Mandal Mandi, and tehsil officers.

Overnight Halt in Poonch Followed by Devotional March to Mandi

The yatris had arrived in Poonch yesterday evening and spent the night at the College Ground base camp. Early this morning, the yatra convoy moved towards Mandi, greeted en route by locals and officials at the Mandi bus stand, where a cultural and devotional atmosphere prevailed

Holy Dip at Gori Kund and Darshan of Baba Chatani

Upon arrival at the Shri Buddha Amarnath Ji Temple, pilgrims first took a purifying dip at the historic Gori Kund, followed by darshan and prayers at the sanctum sanctorum. The temple welcomed the yatris with mantra upchar (ritual chanting), symbolizing the deep spiritual significance of the pilgrimage.

Devotees Share Experiences and Local Hospitality Praised

Isher Bhai Patel, a pilgrim from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, shared his heartfelt thoughts:

“This is my first visit to Shri Buddha Amarnath Ji Temple. I feel very happy to be part of the first batch. After returning to Gujarat, I will tell all my friends about the hospitality we received here and encourage them to visit and pay obeisance.”

His words reflect the devotion, unity, and cultural warmth associated with this sacred pilgrimage.
