New Delhi: Gold prices in the national capital fell below the Rs 1.50 lakh mark per 10 grams on Tuesday, declining by Rs 1,400 amid weak domestic demand and a stronger US dollar.

Gold of 99.9% purity was quoted at Rs 1,48,600 per 10 grams, including taxes, according to local traders. The precious metal had closed at Rs 1.50 lakh per 10 grams on Monday.

The latest price marks the first time in about two months that gold has traded below the Rs 1.50 lakh level in Delhi.

Gold Price Today in Delhi

Gold prices declined for the second consecutive session on Tuesday.

The metal was last quoted around the current level on July 31, when the price stood at Rs 1,48,300 per 10 grams.

The latest fall has come amid weaker local demand and pressure from a stronger US dollar. Global market conditions have also contributed to volatility in precious metals.

Silver Price Remains Unchanged

While gold declined, silver prices remained unchanged at Rs 2.32 lakh per kilogram, including taxes.

Silver had dropped by Rs 5,000 in the previous session from Friday’s closing price of Rs 2.37 lakh per kg.

The movement in precious metals has been influenced by broader global financial conditions, including expectations surrounding US interest rates and bond yields.

Global Gold Prices Recover

In international markets, spot gold staged a modest recovery after falling around 4% in the previous session.

Spot gold increased by USD 30.34, or nearly 1%, to USD 4,145.26 per ounce.

Silver also recovered from its recent decline and was trading around USD 60.69 per ounce after falling nearly 6% in the preceding session.

Market analysts cited continued expectations of higher US interest rates and elevated bond yields as factors affecting precious-metal prices.

The latest movements indicate continued volatility in both domestic and international gold and silver markets.
