The Har Ghar Tiranga Patriotic Film Festival Mumbai has officially begun, celebrating Indian pride through the power of cinema. Organised by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) and the National Museum of Indian Cinema (NMIC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, this three-day cinematic tribute to India is taking place at the NFDC-NMIC Complex in Mumbai from August 11 to August 13, 2025.

The festival opened with a special ceremony, featuring screenings of Manoj Kumar’s iconic Shaheed and Randeep Hooda’s Savarkar. According to the official NMIC Instagram handle, the event aims to honour the nation’s history, heroes, and patriotic spirit through storytelling on the big screen.

Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra lauded the initiative, calling it a powerful effort to inspire patriotism among citizens. Speaking to ANI, Mishra congratulated the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and NFDC for organising such a unique cultural event across four Indian cities, including Mumbai and Delhi.

“The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign is an appeal made by the Prime Minister. To promote this spirit, the Ministry and NFDC have organised a patriotic film festival in multiple cities. In today’s time, when India stands confidently among global leaders, it is the duty of filmmakers, writers, and artists to promote the spirit of patriotism. This festival embodies that mission,” Mishra said.

Actress Shriya Pilgaonkar, known for her impactful roles in Mirzapur, Guilty Minds, The Broken News, Taaza Khabar, and Mandala Murders, attended the opening ceremony in Mumbai. Her presence added star power to the event, highlighting how cinema can bridge history and modern culture in honour of the nation.

The patriotic film festival will continue until August 13, offering audiences a chance to relive stories of sacrifice, bravery, and national pride.
