Doordarshan Kendra: Anurag Thakur launches Shimla TV Channel to people

Shimla: Now Doordarshan Kendra in Himachal Pradesh. Shimla will provide its services to people 24/7 from now. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur today inaugurated the 24-hour television service Shimla’s Doordarshan Kendra at Peterhoff in the capital.

The minister said that keeping in mind the long standing demand of people, Doordarshan Kendra, Shimla TV channel is dedicated to people 24/7 from now.

Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur said that with the start of 24-hour broadcasting from DD Himachal, not only the news of the state but also the culture and traditions of the state will be known nationally and internationally.

DD said that all programs of Himachal will now be seen across the country through DTH and most of the programs here will be dedicated to art, culture, religious places, tourism, adventure, sports and programs for soldiers.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that through DD Himachal, Central and State Government schemes will also be broadcast for public awareness. Prasar Bharati CEO Gaurav Dwivedi expressed hope that DD Himachal will fulfill the aspirations of the people of Himachal.

He thanked the Union Minister for understanding the necessity of Doordarshan’s reach in remote and remote areas of Himachal Pradesh. The Chief Minister urged Prasar Bharti to telecast various programs based on the rich tourism potential of Himachal Pradesh.

Equipped with modern facilities, DD Himachal will also be available on DTH. Information related to art, culture, traditions, tourist and religious places and various achievements of the state will be newly available on the national network.

Besides promoting tourism, programs on Himachali folk music would be aired on the lines of Doordarshan’s famous program Chitrahaar. Three half-hour newscasts will be aired on DD Himachal, the Union minister said.
