India strongly condemned Pakistan at the United Nations Security Council, accusing it of decades-long support for cross-border terrorism.
During an open debate on civilian protection in armed conflicts, India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, criticized Pakistan for using civilians as a shield to further its terrorist agenda.
He pointed to recent examples, including senior Pakistani officials honoring terrorists killed in Operation Sindoor, and said a country that fails to differentiate between terrorists and civilians lacks the moral standing to speak on civilian protection.
Ambassador Harish also accused the Pakistani army of deliberately targeting Indian border villages earlier this month and cited past attacks, including the 2008 Mumbai attacks and the April 2025 massacre of tourists in Pahalgam, as part of a continued pattern of violence.
His remarks were in response to Pakistan’s earlier statements during the UNSC debate, which focused on the safety of civilians, humanitarian workers, and journalists in conflict zones.
