India Urges Restraint Amid Iran-Israel Conflict, Monitors Situation Closely

India has expressed serious concern over the recent escalation between Iran and Israel, calling on both nations to refrain from taking any steps that could intensify the conflict. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stressed the need for restraint and diplomacy in the wake of heightened tensions in the region.

India Appeals for De-escalation Amid Rising Regional Tensions

In an official statement, the MEA said, “India has expressed concern at recent developments between Iran and Israel and urged both sides to avoid any escalatory steps.”

The government added that it is closely watching the evolving situation, particularly reports concerning attacks on nuclear facilities.

India Monitoring Reports on Nuclear Site Attacks

The Ministry further confirmed that New Delhi is monitoring the situation with “utmost attention,” especially given the implications of reported strikes on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.

India has consistently advocated for peaceful dialogue and resolution through diplomatic means, avoiding confrontation and preserving regional peace.

Balanced Stance in a Volatile Region

With strong bilateral ties with both Israel and Iran, India is taking a cautious and neutral stance. Its call for calm reflects a broader strategic interest in regional stability, energy security, and the protection of Indian nationals in the Middle East.
