In an official statement, the MEA said, “India has expressed concern at recent developments between Iran and Israel and urged both sides to avoid any escalatory steps.”

The government added that it is closely watching the evolving situation, particularly reports concerning attacks on nuclear facilities.

The Ministry further confirmed that New Delhi is monitoring the situation with “utmost attention,” especially given the implications of reported strikes on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.

India has consistently advocated for peaceful dialogue and resolution through diplomatic means, avoiding confrontation and preserving regional peace.

Balanced Stance in a Volatile Region

With strong bilateral ties with both Israel and Iran, India is taking a cautious and neutral stance. Its call for calm reflects a broader strategic interest in regional stability, energy security, and the protection of Indian nationals in the Middle East.
