Live television visuals showed the visitors arriving at the stadium well behind schedule, forcing match officials to postpone the toss and revise the match timetable.

The unusual delay was caused by heavy traffic in the Hampshire region rather than weather, with reports indicating that road congestion significantly slowed travel for both teams and spectators heading to the venue.

According to local reports, severe congestion around Southampton turned even short journeys into lengthy commutes.

The venue had also advised fans to plan their journeys early due to expected congestion around the international fixture.
