IPL 2025, CSK Vs DC: Ruturaj Gaikwad reflects frustration after third consecutive loss

Published on

IPL 2025, CSK Vs DC: The Chennai Super Kings fell to the Delhi Capitals, and Ruturaj Gaikwad expressed his concerns about the team’s continuous troubles. He stated that the team appeared “overly concerned or tentative” about their performance in the opening six overs.

“Not today, since the last three games, it’s not really going our way. We’re trying our level best in all three departments,” Gaikwad said at the post-match presentation.

“I think Powerplay is definitely a concern for us — in the batting and bowling department. We’ve spotted that since the second game.

“We’re trying but it’s just not happening. I just think that we are over concerned or tentative about who’s coming on to bowl in the Powerplay… we’re losing a wicket in the first or second over. We’re just over concerned about things in the Powerplay.”

DC 183/6 (20)

CSK 158/5 (20)

Delhi Capitals won by 25 runs

PLAYER OF THE MATCH: KL Rahul

Chasing the target of 184, CSK struggled under pressure and finished on 158/5 in 20 overs. Vijay Shankar was the leading scorer, with 69 runs off 54 balls, while MS Dhoni remained undefeated on 30 from 26 deliveries.
