Kalabaisakhi: MeT dept issues YELLOW WARNING to 7 districts of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Kalabaisakhi has arrived in Odisha and is expected to provide relief from the sweltering sun. The MeT department has issued an orange warning to 7 districts for thunder, lightning, and hail storms on March 20.

Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Mayurbhanj.

In the previous 24 hours, the temperature has dropped by three to four degrees. Thunderstorms and hailstorms are expected in numerous areas of Odisha. The MeT department has issued an orange alert for the districts of Bhadrak, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Sundargarh.

Light to moderate rain or Thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhargarh, Sundargarh at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Jajpur and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
