KL Rahul Joins 10,000-Run Club

Rahul becomes the 15th Indian cricketer to score 10,000 or more runs in international cricket.

The right-hander made his international debut in 2014 and has represented India across all three formats. His career has also included different batting roles, from opening the innings to playing in the middle order, along with regular wicketkeeping responsibilities.

Before the third ODI, Rahul’s international record included:

  • Tests: 4,288 runs in 70 matches, including 12 centuries and 21 half-centuries
  • ODIs: 3,412 runs in 99 matches, including 8 centuries and 20 half-centuries

His ability to adapt across formats and positions has been a notable feature of his international career.

Rahul Reaches Landmark Against West Indies

The 10,000-run milestone adds another major achievement to Rahul’s international career.

India had already secured the three-match ODI series after victories in the first two games. The third ODI in New Chandigarh was therefore an opportunity for the team to complete a clean sweep.

Rahul’s landmark came during a match that also featured several notable individual milestones.

India vs West Indies ODI Series 2026

The third ODI is part of West Indies’ 2026 tour of India, with Shubman Gill leading the Indian side and Shai Hope captaining West Indies.

India won the first ODI in Thiruvananthapuram on September 27 before securing another victory in Guwahati on September 30.

The third match was played in New Chandigarh on October 3.

With Rahul now entering the 10,000-run club, the milestone adds another significant chapter to his international career as India continues its campaign against West Indies.
