“Make in Odisha” Campaign: Odisha is expected to open its first semiconductor production facility by December 2025, marking a major step forward in technical development.

The unit will be housed in a 2,000-square-foot facility in Info Valley and was created in partnership with R&D Company. In answer to a question from MLA Amarendra Das during the assembly session, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling revealed this historic development.

Through the “Make in Odisha” campaign, the state government hopes to establish Odisha as a significant centre for the semiconductor and IT industries. There are currently 30 IT projects underway, which should result in the employment of about 34,321 people.

In order to meet the rising need for IT infrastructure, plans are also in motion to build data centres in Koraput and Keonjhar. There will also be a cable landing point in Puri.

The initiatives highlight the Odisha government’s dedication to using innovation and technology to increase job opportunities and speed economic growth.
