PURI:Nabajoubana Darshan 2026 has drawn lakhs of devotees to Puri, where they are eagerly waiting for the first divine glimpse of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra after the 15-day Anasara period. The sacred ritual, held just before the annual Rath Yatra, marks the symbolic recovery of the deities from illness and their reappearance in youthful splendour.
The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has announced special arrangements to ensure a smooth and orderly darshan amid the expected surge in pilgrim footfall.
Nabajoubana Darshan 2026 Timings and Entry Arrangements
According to the SJTA, the darshan will take place in two phases after the completion of Mangala Alati and Abakasha Niti.
The schedule is as follows:
- Parimanik (Ticketed) Darshan: 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm
- General Public Darshan: 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm
The darshan duration has been limited to two hours due to the large number of temple rituals that must be performed before the deities are presented to devotees.
To streamline crowd movement:
- General devotees will enter through the Singhadwara (Lion’s Gate).
- Parimanik Darshan devotees will enter through the Dakshina Dwara (Southern Gate).
Massive Security in Place Ahead of Rath Yatra
Authorities have deployed extensive security arrangements to manage the heavy rush of pilgrims.
Police personnel, temple administration officials and servitors are working together to regulate crowd movement and maintain order inside and around the temple premises.
Security measures include:
- Deployment of police forces along the Bada Danda (Grand Road).
- CCTV surveillance for real-time monitoring.
- Traffic management and crowd control at key locations.
- Coordination between police and temple authorities to ensure uninterrupted darshan.
Nabajoubana Darshan 2026 Marks Beginning of Rath Yatra Festivities
Nabajoubana Darshan is regarded as one of the most spiritually significant rituals in the annual Jagannath tradition, as it offers devotees the first opportunity to witness the Holy Trinity after the Anasara period.
With Rath Yatra approaching, the SJTA has intensified preparations to provide devotees with a safe, orderly and memorable darshan experience while preserving the sanctity of one of Odisha’s most revered religious events.
