NSDL IPO: ₹1,200 Crore Raised from Anchor Investors; GMP at ₹126 Ahead of Listing

The National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) has successfully raised over ₹1,200 crore from anchor investors ahead of its much-anticipated initial public offering (IPO), which opens for public subscription on July 31 and closes on August 1, 2025.

In a regulatory filing with the BSE, NSDL confirmed it has allotted 1.5 crore equity shares at a price of ₹800 per share to anchor investors during the pre-IPO round.

NSDL IPO 2025: Major Mutual Funds and Institutions Participate

Out of the total shares allotted, approximately 35.27% (5,297,418 shares) were allocated to 12 prominent domestic mutual funds, who applied via 22 different schemes.

Some of the key anchor investors include:

• Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC)
• SBI Banking & Financial Services Fund
• ICICI Prudential ELSS Tax Saver Fund
• HDFC Value Fund
• Smallcap World Fund
• Fidelity Funds – India Focus Fund
• Ashoka Whiteoak ICAV

The strong anchor book reflects robust institutional interest ahead of the IPO launch.

NSDL IPO GMP and Price Band Details

As of 11:05 PM on July 29, the grey market premium (GMP) for NSDL IPO 2025 stood at ₹126 per share, indicating a possible listing at ₹926 — a 15.75% premium over the upper end of the price band.

The IPO price band is set between ₹760 to ₹800 per equity share, and the issue is entirely an Offer for Sale (OFS), aiming to raise ₹4,011.60 crore.

Allotment Structure and Employee Benefit

The IPO will allocate:

• 50% to Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs)
• 15% to Non-Institutional Investors (NIIs)
• 35% to Retail Individual Investors (RIIs)

In addition, 85,000 equity shares have been reserved for eligible employees, who will enjoy a discount of ₹76 per share under the employee quota.

NSDL IPO 2025 Listing Plans

The public issue is scheduled to list on both NSE and BSE, with strong market expectations due to NSDL’s prominent role in India’s financial infrastructure.
